We are very proud to announce that we have become the owners of Hans Nielsen’s legendary motorcycle – one of the most important figures in the history of Danish speedway. The machine, along with other memorabilia, will become part of a museum exhibit at the Hvide Klit Hotel, located between Frederikshavn and Skagen, where we are currently working to create a unique tribute to Danish speedway.
A symbol of the history of Danish speedway
Hans Nielsen has been a track icon over the years – his style, courage and heart for battle have been etched in the memories of fans. Now we want to preserve these emotions and pass them on – that’s why we decided to purchase the motorcycle and create a place where his story can live on.
Why this particular copy?
This motorcycle is not only a unique exhibit – it is a symbol of the entire era of Danish speedway. It was on such machines that unforgettable duels took place, which built the legend of the discipline in Denmark. Nielsen’s copy, driven by one of the most charismatic riders of his generation, embodies the spirit of those years and is a carrier of memories for thousands of fans.
Where can you see it? – The exhibition at the Hvide Klit Hotel
The motorcycle is part of a unique exhibition at the Hvide Klit Hotel, a place passionately created by new owner and former speedway rider Henrik Ziegler. The exhibition aims to honor the history of Danish speedway: from its golden years to the present. Other exhibits include the motorcycle on which Hans Nielsen won world championships in 1986 and 1987. This is a place with a soul, connecting the past with the future of speedway – and we are proud that Nielsen’s machine is a part of it.

Some technical facts about the motorcycle:
- Speedway motorcycles used by riders like Hans are single-speed machines with engines up to 500 cc (single cylinder, 4-stroke), with a minimum weight of 77 kg (dry weight).
- No brakes – motorcycles are braked by side-sliding (powerslide) and engine reduction.
- They are fueled exclusively with methanol, which allows higher compression and more power with a compact engine size – side speeds reach around 130 km/h.
These parameters make the machine impressively efficient and extremely demanding to drive, which only adds to the historical value of the purchased unit.
On Facebook you will find a short interview with Henrik Ziegler, owner of the Hvide Klit Hotel and organizer of the exhibition.
